About Pomodoros: A Family Tradition
Tommy Tsiros
Proprietor
Tommy was born and raised here in Asheville, North Carolina. His father is an immigrant from Greece, born in the village of Nostimo. Coincidentally, the word Nostimo means delicious in Greek. Tommy got his first education working in his father's restaurants. He graduated from the University of North Carolina Asheville and went to work for WLOS News 13. When an opportunity arose, Tommy purchased a downtown deli and operated it for ten years. Though the deli was successful, Tommy yearned to open his own restaurant from scratch. From his Mediterranean background and his love for food and wine Tommy created Pomodoros Greek and Italian Cafe. His philosophy is to produce a quality experience in every aspect from the atmosphere, to the staff, to the food. That is why when you walk into Pomodoros you will feel taken care of from the first moment to the last.
Cookie Hadley
Executive Chef
Chef Christopher Hadley, known to everyone here simply as “Cookie”, has been working in the restaurant industry since 1987. Starting as a dishwasher in his teens, he worked his way through every job possible in a variety of different restaurants, learning the trade as he went. He has worked under many brilliant chefs in a multitude of different styles from Italian to Asian-fusion. He also spent five years as the chef at an organic farm, cooking three meals a day for 50 people, using mostly ingredients grown on site. After working a year and a half as the Executive Sous-Chef at a Spanish Tapas restaurant, Cookie joined the Pomodoros family. Pomodoros’ menu is a reflection of his diverse culinary experience and passion for healthy, fresh, and innovative food.
